Nathanael Jonhenry’s practice focuses on legislative counseling, government relations, election law, campaign finance, ethics law, and public and infrastructure finance.
Nathanael has been involved in several major policy issues in the Ohio General Assembly, including economic development, energy, healthcare, environment, tax reform, local government and finance.
Nathanael’s government advocacy and legislative counseling includes preparing and drafting legislation, providing analyses of pending legislation, and preparing testimony and policy position papers, as well as monitoring legislative committee hearings and sessions.
In addition, Nathanael assists corporate clients in all aspects of campaign finance and election law. He routinely provides regulatory advice to several Fortune 500 companies in the healthcare, chemical, retail and aviation industries.
Nathanael’s campaign finance and election law counseling includes establishing political action committees, preparing and filing campaign finance reports, and providing specific advice on contributions, expenditures and reporting requirements in various states and for the Federal Election Commission.
Prior to joining Squire Patton Boggs in 2009, Nathanael worked as a legislative aide in the Ohio House for then Representative Tom Patton, where he performed legislative research and policy analysis on economic, education and healthcare issues. In facilitating communication with the news media, he prepared press releases and newsletters.
Nathanael also briefly worked in Washington DC for Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson and has also been a campaign manager for candidates on the state and local levels. Nathanael is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio Lobbying Association.
