
Navid Fanaeian is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Electronics Practice. Navid works with engineers, academics, and executives to secure and enforce patents, to steer clear of patents, or to challenge or defend against enforcement of patents as needed.
He works with technologies in very diverse fields, including inventions in the electrical, computer hardware and software, and biomedical arts.Navid has significant patent drafting and prosecution experience, domestically and internationally, in electronics, computing, and medical industries.
He has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in such areas as medical and financial software, medical treatment devices and implants, medical imaging, bioinformatics, augmented reality, cybersecurity, processor and memory design, optics, semiconductors, RF technologies, machine learning, and “green” technologies.
Additionally, Navid provides litigation support and counsels clients on a variety of patent issues.
Education :
Navid earned both his law degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame (J.D., M.B.A., 2004), where he was articles editor for Notre Dame Law Review, named to the Dean’s list, and president of the Intellectual Property Law Society.
Navid also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, where he was invited to join Eta Kappa Nu (B.S. 2007). Prior to his law education, he received a graduate degree in physiology from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (1998).
Additionally, Navid received a master’s degree in health evaluation sciences and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia (M.S. 1999, B.A. 1997).
Admissions : Navid is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, Virginia, and District of Columbia. Navid is also admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
