Neil L. Levy specializes in energy, including power production, transmission and marketing matters. A partner in our FERC practice, Neil represents energy industry clients in a variety of regulatory, litigation and transactional issues.
Neil represents independent power producers, electric power and natural gas marketers, merchant transmission developers, interstate pipelines and local distribution companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state public utility commissions and the courts of appeal.
Client matters include regulatory, administrative litigation and transactional issues arising under the Federal Power Act, the Natural Gas Act, the Public Utility Holding Company Act of 2005, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978. In addition, Neil represents private equity clients in mergers and acquisitions transactions in the energy sector.
Previously, Neil served as a Trial Attorney and Attorney-Advisor in the FERC Office of General Counsel.
In 2015 and 2016, Neil received recognition from the Legal 500 in its Energy Regulatory category. He has been rated a “band one” lawyer by Chambers Global for electric energy regulatory and litigation matters in every year since 2010, and was also recognized in 2015 and 2016 for oil and gas regulatory matters.
