Nelson K.H. Lee is a partner in Lee & Lee, PS. Mr. Lee is a former Senior Deputy Prosecutor with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, with over 100 cases tried successfully before a jury during his 17-year career there. In 2010, after a long and fulfilling stint in the public sector, Mr. Lee left the Prosecutor’s Office to start his own practice.

His goal was to create a firm that would provide legal services to his community – in particular, under-served immigrants and other diverse clients – in the private sector. Mr. Lee has strong personal and professional ties to the Pacific Northwest’s Asian community, and he is fluent in Mandarin and Japanese.

During his lengthy tenure with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Mr. Lee prosecuted a number of complex, high-profile cases.

Since leaving his position as a prosecutor, Mr. Lee has had the opportunity to work on a number of civil matters that have been resolved successfully in his clients’ favor. Recently, Mr. Lee was able to achieve a six-figure settlement in a personal injury suit against a local government entity.

When he is not working on behalf of his clients in the civil arena, Mr. Lee dedicates his time to pro bono activities, teaching and leadership in local organizations. He is a pro tempore judge for the cities of Lake Forest Park and Federal Way.

Mr. Lee also volunteers regularly at the International District Legal Clinic, has served as an adjunct professor in trial advocacy at the University of Washington and Seattle University, and has coached moot court and trial advocacy contestants, including those that participate in the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition.

In addition, Mr. Lee has served as a board member and officer of a number of local organizations – he is a past president and board member of the Asian Bar Association of Washington, and the legal advisor to the Hong Kong Association of Washington (HKAW).
