Nicholas Stadnyk helps clients secure, protect and manage their intellectual property. He concentrates his practice on intellectual property prosecution and strategic counseling, with a particular emphasis in patent-related matters.
Nick has worked with companies in a number of diverse technology areas, including the electrical and computer arts, telecommunications, chemicals, process engineering, medical devices, mechanical engineering and optics, among others.
Further, Nick has experience in patent infringement and validity analysis, patentability studies and portfolio due diligence, intellectual property licensing, joint development agreements, confidentiality agreements, trademarks and intellectual property litigation.
Before joining Shook, Nick developed his skills in patent work in a number of positions at companies of varying sizes. He worked at a boutique IP firm focused on patent prosecution and subsequently served as in-house counsel to a small technology company, where he helped with patent portfolio management and development as well as litigation matters.
During law school, Nick spent a substantial amount of time as a legal intern at a Fortune 500 technology company and a summer at another boutique IP firm. Prior to law school, he worked for a number of years at a large information systems and management consulting firm before pursuing a career as an intellectual property attorney.
