Nicola Shiels is a senior counsel in the Dallas office of Locke Lord LLP where she concentrates her practice in consumer finance law. She has vast experience in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, state servicing or collection laws, Truth-in-Lending, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Gramm-Leach Bliley, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and other applicable federal and state laws governing the servicing and collection of consumer debts.
Nicola also has complex litigation experience in areas such as securitized loan pools, intellectual property infringement, and contract disputes as well as representation of corporations in government investigations and related criminal and civil litigation.
