Nicole Medrozo

Nicole G. Medrozo is an accomplished compliance attorney, with both firm and in-house counsel experience, specializing in federal and state regulations, compliance, investigations, and corporate governance. She has experience in fraud and abuse laws, federal and state anti-kickback statutes, and physician referral laws.

Nicole has additional experience in corporate transactions, labor and employment law, litigation, and conducting jury trials/criminal defense and prosecutions. Prior to joining the firm, Nicole practiced health care law in the New Jersey office of an east coast law firm where her practice primarily focused on corporate and transactional matters representing health care providers.

Previously, Nicole served as a health care compliance attorney for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). She played an essential role in developing compliance enhancement initiatives that helped lead to the successful fulfillment of the university’s corporate integrity agreement. Upon UMDNJ’s integration with Rutgers, Nicole served as the Deputy Chief of Enterprise Risk Management and Institutional Compliance, and implemented a robust and effective enterprise risk management, ethics, and compliance program.

Nicole began her career as an Assistant Prosecutor/Special Deputy Attorney General for Essex County in Newark, New Jersey where she tried numerous cases and prosecuted a wide range of crimes. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bette E. Uhrmacher, P.J.S.C. in the Criminal Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Monmouth Vicinage.

While attending law school during the summer of 2004, Nicole studied abroad at the University of Florence in Florence, Italy where her concentration was in European tax structure.
