
Noreen Slank, who worked as an attorney with the law firm Collins Einhorn Farrell PC in Southfield, Michigan, retired from the practice of law in October 2017. She practiced in the state and federal appellate courts from 1980-2017, and the law firm continues to serve many of her clients.
Her focus was on the defense of catastrophic personal injury cases, medical & legal malpractice actions, and insurance coverage disputes. She practiced in appellate courts as well as in the trial courts, particularly during post-verdict proceedings.
She served on the Model Civil Jury Instructions Committee of the Michigan Supreme Court Appointee during 2007-2015 and chaired the Appellate Practice Section of State Bar of Michigan in 1999-2000.
She is the former Board Member of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel and the Litigation Advisory Board of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. She served as the Editor of the Michigan Defense Quarterly from 1991 to 1994.
She has obtained admission to the State Bar of Michigan, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Sixth & Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the Eastern & Western District Courts of Michigan.
Best Lawyers named her Lawyer of the Year in Metro Detroit for her excellence in Appellate Law in the years 2013, and 2017. The Best Lawyers of America recognized her for Appellate Law, Insurance Law, and Medical Malpractice Law-Defendants during 2007-2018, 2013-2018, and 2016-2018 respectively.
DBusiness granted her the Top Lawyer Award in Appellate Law during 2010-2017 and in Insurance Law in the year 2012 and later from 2015 to 2017. Michigan Lawyers Weekly named her Top 10 Lawyer of the Year in 2007. She was among Michigan Lawyer Weekly’s Inaugural Class of 20 Women, whom it honored as Michigan’s Women in the Law in the year 2010.
She completed B.S.W., M.S.W. with high distinction, and J.D. magna cum laude in the years 1974, 1975, and 1980 respectively.
She served with the law firm Collins Einhorn Farrell PC for 39 years since 1980 and chaired its Appellate Practice Group. Before studying law, she served as a School Social Worker for Detroit Public Schools for five years from 1975 to 1980.
