Oluwafunmito (“Funto”) P. Seton is an attorney in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Houston office. She represents employers in managing and successfully resolving matters involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation in federal and state courts, and before federal and state agencies.
Ms. Seton has experience litigating in a variety of areas, including employment, insurance defense, medical malpractice, contract interpretation. She also has experience managing eDiscovery, document collection, and retention.
Ms. Seton has represented clients and secured the dismissals of charges before the EEOC, and state and local Human Rights Commissions, in a variety of cases alleging harassment and race discrimination, disability discrimination and retaliation, FMLA interference, and failure to accommodate under the ADA.
She has also successfully mediated cases alleging harassment, sex, race, disability, and sexual orientation discrimination. During law school Ms. Seton served as a law clerk to the Vanderbilt Office of the General Counsel where she assisted the University with researching compliance issues and drafting university-wide employment policies.
Prior to law school, Ms. Seton worked as an economic consultant with NERA Economic Consulting in Washington DC and London, England, where she performed complex econometric and statistical analysis for use in mergers, acquisitions, and price-fixing cases.
