Parikshit Dasgupta is a partner in the firm’s Global Corporate Group. His practice focuses on the establishment, management and regulation of private equity funds, hedge funds and other alternative investment funds.
He regularly represents both U.S. and non-U.S. sponsors of buyout, growth capital, secondary, distressed debt, energy, infrastructure, technology, venture, credit opportunities and geographically-oriented (especially India and Latin America) funds.
He routinely advises on spin-outs, establishment of new asset management businesses, seeding arrangements and joint-ventures. His practice also includes structuring complex employee leveraged co-investment plans together with carried interest and other compensation plans.
Parik has previously worked for numerous investment houses and other leading financial institutions, including PAI Partners, Triton Partners, Macquarie Bank, Investec, Five Arrows (Rothschild), Astorg Partners, Antin, Abraaj, First State, Capital Dynamics, UBS, Abraaj and Anthemis.
Prior to joining Reed Smith in 2017, Parik was at Kirkland & Ellis. More recently, he was a partner at King & Wood Mallesons (formerly SJ Berwin), where he launched their US funds practice and was one of two co-founding partners based in their New York office.
