
Patrick D. Cornelius is a member of the Healthcare Practice Group, and focuses his practice in the healthcare, financial services and life sciences industries. Pat represents clients in all aspects of merger and acquisition, joint venture and affiliation, private equity, commercial contracting and licensing, technology development and commercialization, compliance and corporate governance matters, including addressing applicable regulatory considerations.
Pat’s extensive experience includes representing a broad range of healthcare and life sciences clients in merger and acquisition transactions. In addition, he frequently represents clients in the formation of joint ventures and other strategic relationships, including hospital system-insurer joint ventures, shared savings arrangements and payor-provider contracting, and hospital-physician alignment strategies.
He also represents clients in in-bound and out-bound licensing of software, as well as intellectual property for R&D and commercialization. Pat also has significant experience representing clients in the healthcare information technology, financial technology, specialty finance, and medical and life science industries in capital raising and investment transactions.
Pat previously co-chaired our former Global Compliance team, and the Value Partner TeamSM, which focused on continually improving the value proposition the firm delivers to its clients. In addition to his experience at the firm, Pat was assistant general counsel for America Online, Inc., where he served as primary counsel to CompuServe and MapQuest.
