Patrick Mahaney
Patrick Mahoney is a retired state trooper from Alabama, a graduate of the FBI National Academy and served over 22 years, before retiring in 2000, in the Alabama Department of Public Safety. After retiring, he served as a civilian police advisor for the U.S. State Department in Kosovo, Jordan, and Iraq for five years. Additionally, he served as an executive officer for the U.S. police advisory mission for 18 months between 2005 and 2006.
Having served 28 years military service with the U.S. Army, as a retired commissioned officer. During his 28 years of military service, he served military police officer, a military intelligence officer and as an infantry officer. He was a ranger and an airborne qualified and served in light infantry and Army special operations units, including Special Forces.
He established his law practice in Montgomery, Alabama in July 2006, after he completed his Iraq tour of duty, where he took on DUI defence, drug offences and crimes, driver license law, Sex Offender Registration and Notification requirements, sex crimes and general criminal practice. He has been licensed to practice law for the past 28 years and has been a member of the state bar of Alabama since May 1989. He is licensed to practice in both federal and state court.
He has successfully defended hundreds of clients who were charged with felony or misdemeanours, drug crimes or DUI. He has also represented clients who needed assistance in the petition for driver license reinstatement, driver license suspension or revocation cases. Previously, he has served as an as a municipal court prosecutor for the City of Montgomery, an assistant attorney general for the Department of Public Safety and as an attorney in private practice since 2006.
