Paul Slager represents plaintiffs in complex, high-value cases, where people have suffered life-changing personal or financial injuries. Many of his cases stem from catastrophic events involving medical malpractice, sexual abuse, violent crimes, interstate trucking and other serious accidents, defective consumer products, and financial or consumer fraud.
He accepts these cases only after carefully and independently investigating the merits of each case in advance and only when he believes cases will help balance important injustices, improve public safety or otherwise make a positive impact in the community.
Consistent with his interest in handling complex cases, Paul also has represented businesses and individuals on a contingency fee basis in significant and complex business disputes. He also represents people in state and federal whistleblower actions, where citizens become aware of illegal or unethical conduct related to government fraud or trading on the securities markets. In those cases, private citizens can recover significant rewards for confidentially informing the government of a fraud through court or agency filings.
Paul’s experience as a tested trial lawyer with significant courtroom experience shapes his approach to these cases and he has filed cases for clients pursuant to the federal False Claims Act (sometimes referred to as “qui tam” cases), the SEC whistleblower program (where a private citizen becomes aware of possible securities law violations) and the IRS Whistleblower Law (where a private citizen becomes aware of a significant tax fraud).
Paul is currently the President-Elect of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, a bar association serving over 1300 member trial attorneys.
He is the only attorney to have three different cases inducted as winners in the Connecticut Law Tribune’s Personal Injury Hall of Fame and he was named the Best Lawyers Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year in both 2016 and 2018 (Stamford, Product Liability Litigation).
Paul has been listed both by New England Super Lawyers* as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in the six-state region and by Connecticut Super Lawyers* as one of the Top 50 Attorneys in Connecticut.
