Paul Leaf

Paul J. Leaf is an associate in the Labor & Employment and Commercial Litigation Departments of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Leaf has litigated before federal and state courts as well as arbitration tribunals. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Leaf practiced commercial litigation with another international law firm.

He has experience in all phases of litigation, including initiating complaints and answering them, drafting and responding to discovery, briefing and arguing motions, managing electronic discovery and legal research teams, working with expert witnesses, deposition practice, preparing witnesses for trial, and drafting direct and cross trial examinations.

He has represented clients from various industries, such as aerospace, automotive, education, entertainment, and residential mortgage lending and securitization, on a variety of matters, including wrongful termination, alter ego, anti-SLAPP, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, business tort, corporate governance, judgment collection, choice of law, wage and hour, and breach of contract.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Leaf is a regular commentator on U.S. foreign policy, having published op-eds in several national newspapers and magazines (including Forbes, Bloomberg, The American Interest, RealClearPolitics, The National Interest, New York Post, and National Review) and been interviewed and quoted by the media.

Moreover, he is a board member of a charter high school serving under-privileged students from the Compton area. Mr. Leaf has worked on a pro bono case aimed at reforming how the Department of Veterans Affairs processes veterans’ disability claims.
