Paul S. Stevens is an associate at Dechert based in Washington, D.C. and a member of the firm’s financial services group. Mr. Stevens has been actively involved in the firm’s work for some of the largest financial services firms in the United States and globally.
He has advised registered and unregistered investment funds, their boards and independent directors and U.S. registered investment advisers on a range of regulatory, compliance and corporate matters.
Mr. Stevens’ recent experience includes advising permanent capital vehicles, such as closed-end funds and business development companies, automated (or “robo”) advisers and sponsors of managed accounts.
Recent matters have addressed questions concerning the solicitation and marketing of investment advice and fund products, safeguarding and custody of assets and managing multiple accounts and co-investment opportunities.
Mr. Stevens also assists firms in preparing for, and in responding to, SEC examinations, guides firms through the SEC registration process and supports firms in applying for, and obtaining SEC orders for, exemptive relief.
Mr. Stevens contributes regularly to industry publications and Dechert initiatives and is a member of the International Securities Regulation Committee of the International Law Association.
