Payam’s practice encompasses managing bankruptcy cases from the early stages of the case through to the end. Payam’s practice includes strategizing, negotiating and litigating issues related to maintaining the operations of a debtor’s business when representing debtors, and issues related to relief from stay, use of cash collateral, financing, assumption and rejection of contracts and leases, disclosure statement approvals and plan confirmations when representing debtors, creditors or other interested parties.

Payam is experienced in negotiating, conducting and seeking bankruptcy court approval of sales of substantially all assets of debtors’ estates pursuant to Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code. Payam also represents plaintiffs and defendants in adversary proceedings initiated in bankruptcy cases.

Payam’s practice also encompasses complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on representing banks. Payam’s civil work includes strategizing regarding commercial disputes before litigation is commenced, as well as litigation strategy after litigation is commenced.

Prior to litigation, Payam’s practice includes evaluation of a client’s case and its strength in litigation. During litigation, Payam’s practice includes drafting pleadings, discovery practice, law and motion practice, alternative dispute resolution practice and pre-trial practice. Payam has represented clients in both federal and state courts.
