Making a positive difference in the lives of my clients is a core value for me. I have the experience to give people the advice they need to make thoughtful decisions for their future.
Education and Professional History I graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1976, and I was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 1977. I started my legal career as a commercial and business lawyer. For the next fourteen years, I worked with business clients to find practical solutions to the complex problems they often faced in running their companies.
While I learned a great deal about commercial and business law, I found I did not have a passion for what I was doing. In early 1991, an opportunity came along, which changed my life. A good friend and family lawyer decided to leave Alaska. She called and asked if she could refer her divorce clients to me when she left. I said, “Of course.”
Within a matter of months, I was helping divorce clients find practical solutions for the problems they faced in their divorces. Twenty-five years and many clients later, I still love what I do. Dedicated to Divorce, Child Custody, and Family Law The Alaska Bar Association does not certify family lawyers as specialists. Therefore, I cannot ethically hold myself out as a family law specialist.
I can, however state that my practice emphasizes family law cases. Clients I have worked with clients in Anchorage, on the Kenai, in the Mat-Su Valley, and Fairbanks. I have represented clients from many walks of life – from subsistence fishermen to successful business owners.
Because I was a commercial and business lawyer for the first fourteen years of practicing law, I can provide effective and aggressive representation for professionals, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives, and work with them to protect their personal and business legal interests. Associations I am a member of the Alaska Bar Association, the California Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
