
Peter J. O’Meara is an associate and business litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.
Mr. O’Meara’s practice has been concentrated in litigating antitrust matters, including antitrust counterclaims to intellectual property enforcement litigation and defense of antitrust class action litigation.
He also has broad experience litigating complex insurance-reinsurance matters, environmental litigation and government investigations. He also has experience assisting public utilities with regulatory approvals. Mr. O’Meara has practiced in a variety of forums including state and federal courts, arbitrations, and regulatory bodies.
Education :
Mr. O’Meara earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School (J.D., magna cum laude, 2010), where he was a note and comment editor for the Marquette Law Review. He was also membership chair of the American Constitution Society and a member of the Pro Bono Society.
While in law school he served as an intern in the chambers of Justice Anette K. Ziegler of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Mr. O’Meara earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism from the University of Minnesota (B.A., 2006). As an undergraduate he studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mr. O’Meara is a member of the Illinois Bar and the Wisconsin Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
