Peter T. deVore focuses his practice on patent law matters and client counseling including patentability studies, patent procurement, and patent infringement and validity investigations. He assists clients in building, managing and leveraging their patent portfolios for maximum value, from pre-filing through licensing and post-grant proceedings. Peter’s representations include early-stage startups as well as members of the Global 500.
From a technical standpoint, Peter has experience in a variety of industries including automotive, transportation, consumer electronics, medical and surgical devices, power generation and transmission, marine, defense and aerospace, mining and construction, mineral and metal processing, and automated food processing and packaging.
Prior to his legal career, Peter worked at Raytheon Corporation as a thermal engineer on phased-area radar projects, and at Kop-Flex Incorporated, now a division of Emerson Power Transmission, as a co-op engineer on the design and testing of mechanical shaft couplings. Peter handles pro-bono matters through the Alexandria Office of Legal Services of Northern Virginia.
