Philip O. Brandes is a firmwide Corporate & Securities practice leader. He represents strategic and financial investors in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, debt and equity securities offerings, bank financings and joint ventures, frequently with a cross-border dimension.
He has particular experience advising private equity sponsors and pharmaceutical companies. The 2008 edition of International Finance and Law Review’s Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firmsrecommended Philip as a leading US M&A lawyer, noting his “great responsiveness,” “good manner” and “quality advice.”
Since joining Mayer Brown in 1994, Philip has worked in both the New York and Frankfurt offices. He is fluent in German.
