Ramela Ohanian is an associate in the Entertainment and Digital Media Practice Group in the firm’s Century City office. Ms. Ohanian’s practice focuses on transactional entertainment matters, including rights acquisitions, first look and overall agreements, and the development, licensing, and production of scripted and unscripted television projects.
Her practice also includes the handling of deals involving virtual reality and digital media. She works with producers, studios, media companies, and multi-channel networks (including Amazon Studios, Nickelodeon, and Hemisphere Media Group). Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Ms. Ohanian worked at AwesomenessTV, a media and entertainment company, where she served as the lead counsel for the Awestruck programming division.
In addition, Ms. Ohanian managed agreements across multiple platforms, including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, along with influencer marketing deals with brands, agencies and talent. Her work also focused on content acquisition, on-camera talent services and multi-channel network agreements, and company marketing campaigns, including contests and sweepstakes.
Ms. Ohanian received her law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and focused her studies on entertainment. During law school, Ms. Ohanian interned for Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman, LLP, Starz Entertainment, and Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP.
