Randall K. Spencer, one of our criminal defense attorneys in Utah County, has been litigating cases since he completed his second year of law school in 1993. It was then, under the third-year practice rule, that he won his first criminal jury trial.
Randall subsequently worked at the Utah County Public Defender Association, representing indigent people accused of crimes ranging from speeding tickets to homicide. His defense of the First Amendment in one case led to a feature story on Court TV.
In the years since he began private practice in 1999, Randall has expanded his practice to include personal injury cases, such as auto accident claims, and civil litigation dealing with real estate, contracts and major business disputes.
As a criminal defense attorney in Utah County he handles a variety of cases. He has recovered millions of dollars for clients who have been wrongfully injured as a result of the negligent actions of others.
He continues to handle criminal defense, and despite public criticism, vigorously defended Martin MacNeill, a doctor and lawyer accused of murdering his wife. While the verdict was not the hoped-for result, the case remains under appeal based on evidence Randall uncovered after the trial demonstrating that critical witnesses lied during their testimony.
