Raquel Liberman is an associate in the New York office. Raquel represents multinational corporate clients and start-up companies in the investment banking, financial services, legal, electronic products manufacturing, video game, and communications industries on a wide variety of corporate immigration matters including nonimmigrant visas, permanent residence, and citizenship.
She also counsels clients on Labor Certification Application and I-9 compliance, and works with companies to develop strategic plans for the movement of personnel around the world.
Prior to joining Fragomen, Raquel worked as an associate in the global mobility group of a large, international law firm counseling multinational corporate clients in the technology and financial services industries, government contractors, and individual clients on a wide variety of immigration compliance and cross-border immigration processes, including immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, PERM, permanent residency, citizenship, and consular processing issues.
While at Brooklyn Law School, Raquel was an intern and law clerk for the school’s Safe Harbor Project, where she represented clients in asylum, refugee, and VAWA-based matters. She also filed U Visa petitions pro bono for a victim of sexual assault and her derivative dependent.
Since joining Fragomen, Raquel has represented several special immigrant juveniles before the Immigration Court and USCIS and an asylum applicant before Immigration Court. She also volunteered at the South Texas Family Residential Center (Dilley Detention Center), where she represented detained women and children.
Raquel speaks English and Spanish.
