Ravi Soopramanien has a rich experience of over a decade in handling practice areas such as trade remedies, sanctions, and export controls. He serves as a staff attorney with U.S. International Trade Commission since December 2018.
He is highly knowledgeable thanks to his extensive work experience and high educational credentials. He obtained LL.B. with Honors from King’s College at the University of London in 2003.
He went on to complete his LL.M. with Distinction from the London School of Economics & Political Science, and M.I.L.E. summa cum laude in International Law & Economics from The World Trade Institute in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
After arriving in the U.S., he completed LL.M. in Environmental Law & Policy from the Stanford Law School in 2016 to practice locally.
He holds the license to practice law in Washington DC and New York since 2017 and 2010 respectively. He speaks English and French languages fluently.
He has obtained memberships of professional associations such as the International Trade Section of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Ravi Soopramanien previously worked as an associate in the International Trade group of Washington, D.C. office of the law firm Hughes Hubbard from August 2016 to November 2018.
He has advised clients on EU & WTO trade and customs matters. He has litigated many disputes before the WTO. His clients seek his assistance for both the filing of and defense of US anti-dumping complaints.
He worked as a strategist and legal officer at the African Development Bank during 2011-2012 and 2015 respectively. He served as a Legal Officer with the World Trade Organization for two years from January 2013 to December 2014.
He held the post of an Associate in the Trade and Regulatory practice group of top European law firm VVGB Advocates in Brussels area, Belgium from July 2009 to October 2011. He served as a Legal Consultant in the Trade practice of top international law firm WilmerHale in 2008-2009.
Ravi Soopramanien started his legal career working as a Foreign Attorney in the Trade group of global law firm White & Case LLP in 2007.
