Razi Safi

Razi Safi focuses on patent litigation and patent prosecution in a wide array of technologies in the mechanical and electrical fields, including medical devices, financial transaction processing, and electro-mechanical systems. He has experience in the oil and gas and aerospace industries.

Razi has participated in litigation matters at the district court level and in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

While in law school, he worked at Finnegan as a summer associate and law clerk. Razi also spent a summer working on patent matters at a prominent general practice firm in St. Louis, as well as a semester interning for the Office of Unfair Import Investigations (OUII) at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).

As a graduate student, Razi conducted research on numerical simulation and optimization of enhanced oil recovery systems. This research focused on carbon dioxide utilization to recover oil from partially depleted reservoirs.

Before entering law school, Razi worked as a structural analysis engineer at a large aerospace manufacturer, where he worked on various components of commercial and military aircraft. Pro bono work is an important part of Razi’s practice. He enjoys working on behalf of asylum seekers.
