
Rebecca Rudnick Santiago assists many school districts in Connecticut with labor relations, employment and education matters. She serves as the chief negotiator for a number of school districts in contract negotiations with non-certified units as well as teacher and administrator negotiations and represents districts in interest arbitration proceedings.
Rebecca handles administrative hearings, including student expulsion, student accommodations, FERPA, unemployment, prohibited practice charges, grievance arbitration and Freedom of Information hearings.
She assists boards of education in special education matters, including PPT meetings, mediation and due process hearings. She also counsels districts in drafting policies and administrative procedures in all areas of education law.
While in law school, Rebecca served as a Legal Intern for the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Her experience at OCR has been beneficial in assisting school districts to respond to complaints filed with OCR.
