In the initial years of her career, she served as a law clerk at the Casa Cornelia Law Center and the Law Offices of Ricardo Vidal. She worked as an Associate Attorney for almost six years at the Jacobs Schlesinger & Sheppard LLP.

She later joined DiscounTechnology as in-house counsel. She handled different types of transactional issues in areas like immigration law, intellectual property law, employment law, and contract law.

She founded the Law And Effect Group in 2013. She served as the principal attorney at this San Diego-based immigration law firm. She joined her current law firm, Higgs Fletcher and Mack, as a partner in July 2014.

She is a member of various associations such as California Women Lawyers, the State Bar of California, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, San Diego County Bar Association, the Equality Committee of San Diego Lawyers Club, and the National LGBT Bar Association.
