
Renato Pérez advises clients on trademark, copyright and patent matters including brand protection, advertising, and marketing. Prior to joining Drinker Biddle, Renato practiced in a prominent law firm’s regulatory practice group in Washington, D.C., and his regulatory experience includes managing compliance with agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Federal Trade Commission.
He has also worked with intellectual property issues regarding video, music and media usage permissions as a multimedia producer at The Pew Charitable Trusts. While attending the American University Washington College of Law, Renato served as a student-attorney in the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic, a university-supported IP clinic meant to give law students live experience in counseling clients, transactional lawyering, litigation and advocacy.
He received the Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility for his work with the clinic. Renato was also a senior staff member for the American University Business Law Review, a staff member of the Intellectual Property Brief and a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society.
