Renée is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College Law School. She practiced for 12 years as a patent litigator at two of the best law firms in the country, obtaining top-notch strategy and litigation skills, unparalleled by many family law attorneys. She has been practicing exclusively in the area of family law for the past seven years, first at Delaney McKinney, LLP and now at her own firm.
As a family law lawyer, Renée has represented both men and women in high conflict custody cases, litigated custody and child support in DC Superior Court and Montgomery County Circuit Court, participated in the amicable settlement of numerous cases and worked to value businesses and determine the equitable distribution of assets in the millions. Although not yet ranked in Washingtonian’s top family law lawyers, Renée has taken many of those lawyers on and prevailed.
With her excellent litigation skills, her financial acumen, but most importantly, her empathy for and natural inclination to work on behalf of children and families, is the perfect balance of skills for a family law lawyer.
Renée is also trained in Collaborative Law. She was selected to serve on the D.C. Superior Court’s Council on Child Abuse and Neglect, representing parents and children in neglect cases. Renée volunteers in the DC Superior Court Family Law Self-Help Centre and participates pro bono in the Family Court’s Attorney Negotiator Program, working with pro se litigants to settle their family law matters before they appear before the Court.
