
Mr. Richard D. Lutkus is a partner based in the San Francisco office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. His practice is dedicated to complex information governance matters involving to cybersecurity, data breach preparedness and response, digital forensics, internal investigations, crisis management, eDiscovery, cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and other technology related disciplines.
With over 14 years of experience, Mr. Lutkus represents and provides information governance consulting to a broad range of clients—from Fortune 100 global enterprises to small and mid-sized companies alike. Mr. Lutkus has assisted clients in a wide range of cybersecurity matters including privileged cybersecurity assessments, tabletop exercises, threat hunts, penetration tests, social engineering assessments, amongst others.
He has also assisted clients in global data privacy assessments for GDPR compliance, conducted functional and technical data mapping for global enterprises, managed endpoint interrogation for privacy risk assessments, and assisted with development of securing data relating to privacy compliance requirements.
Aside from cybersecurity and privacy, Mr. Lutkus also has a strong practice in digital forensics to support matters involving trade secret misappropriation, computer fraud and abuse, intellectual property theft, internal investigations, harassment investigations, data ransom/data hijacking matters, etc.
Mr. Lutkus is the only practicing attorney in the world that holds three exceptionally technical certifications in digital forensics (EnCE), eDiscovery (EnCEP), and certified ethical hacking (CEH). Mr. Lutkus’ exceptionally strong technical background includes experience in cybersecurity, computer programming, network security, computer and mobile device forensics, ethical hacking, and eDiscovery.
