Rick Stolbach counsels a wide array of US and non-US based clients in the areas of domestic and international business transactions and practices, with particular focus on real estate, joint ventures, business structuring, and mergers and acquisitions.
A former deputy chair of the firm’s Business Department, Rick draws on both his many years of private legal practice, as well as his experience as a business executive, to assist clients in the development or restructuring of complex commercial relationships and the completion of a broad range of transactions, and has been involved in real estate and infrastructure projects throughout the US and on five continents.
Rick counsels clients on the formation of new companies and cross-border expansion. He also provides strategic advice to clients on the structuring of US investments, contract negotiations, corporate governance issues, US government procurement issues and financing strategies.
Outside the firm, Rick served for several years as executive vice president and corporate secretary of Breed Technologies, Inc., an international manufacturer of automotive and electronic components and systems, where he was responsible for the company’s mergers and acquisitions, legal affairs, international licensing and joint venture activities, communications and investor relations – including playing a leading role in the company’s initial public and subsequent offerings on the New York Stock Exchange.
