After more than 40 years practicing at large and mid-sized firms in Boston, Baltimore and Providence and working in-house at a large national bank, Rich has followed his passion to open his own practice. Rich hopes to continue to work with clients in the Northeast as well as new clients in Florida.
Out of his experience in Bankruptcy, Rich evolved a practice representing secured lenders, including banks and finance companies, in documenting and enforcing asset based loans, factoring agreements, equipment leases and franchise financing.
Additionally, Rich has represented lenders and borrowers in real estate construction loans, bond financing and permanent real estated financing. This included a stretch as in-house counsel at Bank of Boston representing their commercial finance and factoring groups as well as the Bank’s troubled loan department.
As an outgrowth of financing franchisors and franchisees, Rich has represented clients acquiring franchises, expanding a franchise systems and the sale and purchase of franchisors and franchisees.
Rich has also represented an investor group in liquidating a franchise system, as well as representing lenders in collecting from and restructuring troubled franchisees and franchisor.
Rich has always enjoyed working with start-up business and small businesses on the uniques problems each encounter from structuring the business, obtained financing, working with the mature business and hopefully ending with a successful sale of the client’s business.
Rich has also represented a number of mature middle market companies in various industries in all aspects of their corporate life. This experience has also involved Rich in a number of alternative financing including everything from SBA financing to various forms of asset based lending.
