Richard Bernardo is a litigator who has defended companies in a variety of complex mass tort cases around the country. He has advised clients on all aspects of litigation, including pre-trial discovery, factual investigation, fact and expert witness preparation and trial strategy.
Mr. Bernardo has helped formulate strategies for addressing nationwide claims involving consumer fraud, failure to warn and conspiracy. He has significant experience in juror research in anticipation of trial.
Mr. Bernardo has considerable experience in the development and preparation of expert witnesses on a variety of scientific issues relating to the causation of chronic diseases, and has deposed a number of scientists and medical professionals regarding epidemiology, toxicology and other relevant scientific disciplines.
In addition, Mr. Bernardo has counseled clients on the development of comprehensive pre-trial discovery programs in connection with large, multidistrict cases. He has developed systems to facilitate more efficient and consistent handling of discovery matters, and has substantial experience working with opposing counsel to address significant discovery issues.
Mr. Bernardo also has advised clients on the potential product liability implications of the development of new products, and has experience working with in-house scientists in connection with a host of issues relating to product manufacturing.
