Mr. Rick Brass graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1978. For the past 38 years he has acquired experience in many diverse areas of the law including criminal defense, family law and civil litigation.

His work in criminal defense extends to all areas of crime ranging from class C misdemeanors such as traffic violations, to much more serious crimes all the way up to and including capital murder.

In family law Mr. Brass has experience and expertise in all aspects of this area of the law. His services include handling divorce, child support, modifications, and probate. He has obtained in excess of 5,000 divorces for his clients over the years.

As a commercial law litigator, he has handled cases where millions of dollars hung in the balance. Whether it be defending a company or small business against a claim or pursuing a claim for a breach of contract or deceptive trade practice, the client’s rights and interests have always been protected. He has tried cases in all courts from the Justices of the Peace all the way to the United States Supreme Court.

In addition to 38 years of experience gained from working as a criminal defense lawyer, family lawyer, and a commercial litigator, Mr. Brass has also obtained vital insight into various legal processes as a result of his involvement in the community and judicial system. Along with his law degree and membership to the Texas Bar Association, Mr. Brass is also a retired Police Captain in Harris County.

He is also the former Chairperson of the Board of Directors- New Directions; a community based correctional program and a former Special Prosecutor- State Bar of Texas, Lawyer Disciplinary Division. He is a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard and the current Vice President of the Montgomery County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Mr. Brass is dedicated, qualified, honest and conservative. His many years of experience give him the upper hand when dealing with complex legal issues.
