Rick Shearer

Rick Shearer represents clients in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country and in arbitrations. He has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving breach of contract claims, fraud and fiduciary duty litigation, joint venture and partnership disputes, professional negligence claims, insurance coverage disputes, creditor’s rights issues and counterclaim defense.

Rick has litigated or otherwise resolved cases for clients in a broad range of industries including technology, media, design and construction, finance, insurance, manufacturing and professional services.

Rick counsels and litigates for clients and handles all aspects of litigation, including developing and establishing pre-trial and trial strategy, engaging in dispositive motion practice, taking and defending critical depositions, coordinating responses to subpoenas, preparing and executing discovery, and engaging in discovery motion practice.

Rick advises clients on legal compliance, best-practices and pre-litigation avoidance strategy. He has assisted clients by establishing case resolution strategy, selecting and supervising local counsel, and approving pleadings and settlements.
