Ricky Brown

Ricky L. Brown concentrates his practice in product liability litigation, primarily focusing on Engle-Progeny litigation and pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Working in these areas, he seeks to provide efficient advocacy and creative solutions to complex litigation matters.

Before entering the legal profession, he served in the U.S. Army for almost nine years, rising to the rank of Captain. His commanding officers described him as “absolutely selfless in his time and energy,” and “an expert communicator whose words resonate with any audience.”

Through his military experience, he developed considerable leadership experience which gave him the ability to rapidly assess a situation and determine the most effective and efficient solution to any complex problem.

Due to his tireless work ethic and discipline, he was selected for the most demanding leadership positions during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was selected to advise the Royal Saudi Land Forces of Saudi Arabia on engineer combat operations in preparation for conflict in Iraq and Yemen.

He held various leadership positions, from platoon leader to company commander. He brings the same zeal to client advocacy that he applied while leading troops and serving the country.

During law school, Ricky completed an externship with the Firearms Enforcement Unit of the Florida State’s Attorney’s Office. After that, he developed his litigation skills working for a Tampa law firm, drafting legal memoranda and briefs. He also was the senior articles editor of the Florida Journal of International Law.

Ricky also is an endurance runner, and to date has completed ten marathons, with a personal record of 3 hours and 21 minutes at the Walt Disney World Marathon in 2012.
