Robert M. Careless concentrates his practice in the area of state and local taxation law, with an emphasis on personal income, sales/use and property tax matters. Bob has experience representing clients in Act 511 taxation matters, as well as representing clients in tax appeal proceedings before administrative appeal boards.
He also has extensive experience representing clients in the collection of delinquent property taxes. Bob is involved in pro bono representation of low-income individuals facing mortgage foreclosure sales and sheriff sales.
In addition, Bob concentrates a portion of his practice on land use and zoning law. Before joining Cozen O’Connor, he represented townships, boroughs and other local government entities in municipal, land use, zoning, local taxation, eminent domain, code enforcement and litigation matters. Further, he represented municipal clients as solicitor at public business meetings and before zoning hearing boards.
Bob received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Temple University. Upon graduating from Temple, Bob worked as a full-time law clerk for a Norristown law firm while he attended law school at night. He earned his J.D. from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law in 2011.
