Robert Casazza joined Fragomen in 2000 and has worked in widely varied areas of immigration law. When he was first with the firm, Robert managed the accounts of a number of large technology based multinational companies where he provided counsel on all major employment–based temporary and permanent visa categories, as well as family-based permanent residence and citizenship applications on an individual basis.
In early 2006 Robert joined the firm’s Appearance Team handling all appearance issues at local USCIS offices, both in the New York metro area, as well as at various USCIS offices around the country. This work has included his attendance at numerous Permanent Residence and Citizenship interviews, often on complicated matters and for VIP clients.
In addition, his work at the local USCIS offices often involves attending NSEERS interviews, obtaining emergency travel authorization, inquiring on and closing out long pending cases and meeting with key senior level immigration officials.
Robert is often called on to provide internal firm training on his specialized knowledge of local USCIS office practice, the immigration interview process and complicated citizenship issues. He has also spoken on immigration-related topics at Immigration Law conferences organized by CFGI and AILA.
Prior to his employment with Fragomen, Robert was an associate with another New York City law firm that practices exclusively in Immigration and Nationality law, where he originally gained much experience for his current role.
Additionally, during law school Robert lived in Guatemala where he worked as a human rights advocate for the local indigenous population and served as a law clerk with Catholic Charities in New York City where he was involved with all aspects of preparing applications for political asylum.
Robert speaks English and Spanish.
