Robert D. Perrow has a broad range of experience representing various types of financial institutions, with an emphasis on defending residential mortgage lenders and brokers against consumer claims, including class actions and matters involving regulatory compliance.
His administrative law experience includes handling licensing matters before the Virginia State Corporation Commission, defending alleged violations of the Fair Housing Act and defending alleged securities law violations in FINRA arbitrations. Mr. Perrow has handled cases since 1975 in state and federal courts in Virginia, and numerous federal courts in other states.
Mr. Perrow has served as chair of the Virginia State Bar Special Committee on Bench-Bar Relations. He formerly served on the Virginia State Bar Special Committee on Bar News Media Relations. He is a member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association and the Administrative Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association. He is also a permanent member of the Judicial Conference of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Following law school, Mr. Perrow served as a law clerk to the Honorable J. Calvitt Clarke, Jr., District Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. After his clerkship, Mr. Perrow served approximately two years as an assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Mr. Perrow received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1974 and his Bachelor of Science degree in commerce from the University of Virginia in 1970. During law school, Mr. Perrow was a member of the University of Richmond Law Review and was elected to the McNeill Law Society.
