Robert C. Deegan is an associate in the Insurance Recovery Group in Reed Smith’s Chicago office. Robert represents clients in civil disputes, with an emphasis on representing clients in actions seeking to enforce rights under commercial insurance policies as well as advising clients on scope of coverage.
Robert has significant experience in the area of long term care insurance litigation. This experience includes class action litigation over facility and home health care benefits as well as working with state regulatory agencies on coverage issues.
He also has experience representing clients facing a wide range of legal challenges, including: commercial lines and workers’ compensation carriers involved in breach of contract disputes; consumer protection, business tort, and antitrust litigation; commercial clients involved in class actions based on allegations of false advertising, unfair business practices, negligent misrepresentation and fraud; heavy equipment manufacturers facing high value personal injury claims; and corporate directors & officers facing claims of breach of fiduciary duties and other forms of misconduct.
