Attorney Robert L Evans received his legal training at the University of Michigan Law School, a top three nationally rated law school. Then, following a schoolboy dream inspired by accounts of President Abraham Lincoln, he returned to his home town and “nailed up his own shingle.”
Within seven years, the citizens of his community elected him as their municipal judge. Swiftly following was an appointment by a Michigan governor to judge of the Recorder’s Court for the City of Detroit, by reputation one of the busiest and most efficient criminal trial court in the country.
Subsequently he was elected judge of the Wayne County Circuit Court, a Michigan trial court of general jurisdiction identical to that of the Maricopa Superior Court, where he presided over hundreds of civil, criminal, and family court cases.
In addition to his distinguished judicial service, he taught the lawyers and judges in state of Michigan programs, and judges at the National Judicial College, an institution that provides basic training and continuing legal education to judges nationwide.
Leaving judicial service in January 2003, he next established the law firm, Robert L Evans, Attorney at Law in Phoenix, Arizona.
As a solo practitioner Attorney Robert L Evans’ principle focus is upon bankruptcy, criminal appeals, and divorce and custody and complex civil cases.
