A former Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk, Robert Slaughter knows his way around a courtroom, and has spent much of his thirty-five year career protecting the rights of plaintiffs in personal injury cases.
A strong believer that there is no substitute for preparation, Rob approaches each case as if it were the biggest trial of his career. Every case – every client – matters deeply. Every day. In addition to his long and successful career for the Commonwealth and in private practice, Rob has also served his country as an Army Reserve officer in Iraq, earning a Bronze Star.
He is also active in philanthropic work, recently through mission trips to both Haiti and Africa. Clearly, he has the “heart of a servant” but “the talents of a master,” with a courtroom style that is dignified, but powerful – commanding and effective in a manner his colleagues characterize as: “Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick.”
