Robert Ernenwein, a native New Yorker, graduated from Manhattan College in 1981 and graduated from Whittier College, School of Law in 1984.
While in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board and the Law Review. These organizations are reserved for only the very best and brightest students.
During his time in Law School, Mr. Ernenwein was a clerk for the Nassau County District Attorney’s office in Nassau County, New York where he supported Assistant District Attorneys in preparing cases for trial.
While in law school he also acted as law clerk for two civil law firms — The law offices of Wayne Abb and The law offices of Deems and Carpenter. He became a member of the California Bar in 1984
Between 1984-1987 he was employed as a Deputy District Attorney in the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office where served as Prosecutor in over 75 misdemeanor and felony jury trials. His cases ranged from Driving Under the Influence to Rape and Murder. He also negotiated approximately 1,500 misdemeanor and felony cases to settlement.
While he was a Deputy District Attorney, he secured convictions of gang members, rapists and murders. Mr. Ernenwein is particularly proud of having tried a murder case with Johnny Cochran in 1987.
In 1987 he entered into private practice. For the past 30 years in this private practice, he has represented thousands of people in misdemeanor and felony cases throughout Southern California.
Robert Ernenwein is very proud to have committed his professional life to working hard to fight for people being investigated for or charged in criminal cases. He is married to his wife, Kristi. They have five children and live in Palos Verdes Estates. In his free time, he enjoys boating, yoga and golf.
