
Ross Docksey is a member and past global co-chairman of the Corporate practice group. He was founding chairman of the global technology and outsourcing group of Lex Mundi, an association of 160 leading law firms with offices in more than 100 countries.
His practice focuses on information technology, information services and business process outsourcing, technology contracting, formation of strategic alliances and M&A. He is a member of the board of directors of Daubert Industries, Inc.; Daubert Chemical Company, Inc.; ECP Incorporated; Rytec Corporation; the USO of Illinois; and the West Point Society of Chicago.
Ross has been named by HRO Today Magazine and by FAO Today Magazine to their annual lists of Superstars of Outsourcing (2002–2011), and was named by Lawdragon Magazine to its nationwide list of 500 leading lawyers (2006).
He is ranked by Chambers Global in “Band 1” Worldwide in Outsourcing. Chambers USA ranked Ross in “Band 1” in Technology and IT Outsourcing and Business Process Outsourcing from 2003 to 2014.
He was once again recognized by Chambers USA in 2015 for both Outsourcing and Technology. The Legal 500recommends Ross in the area of Media, Technology and Telecoms (2012–2016). Ross has been selected annually for inclusion in various peer review publications including The Best Lawyers in America, Leading Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
Ross is a frequent speaker at outsourcing industry conferences, including conferences sponsored by the Sourcing Interests Group, Bureau of National Affairs, Conference Board, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Institutional Investor News. Experience:
Ross represents public and private companies in connection with domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and dispositions in a wide variety of industries. He represented the acquirer of Fresh Brands, Inc., a public company in the wholesale and retail grocery business, and ABN AMRO Capital and its portfolio company, Loparex, in connection with the acquisition of Douglas-Hanson Co., Inc., a privately held company in the coated paper industry.
Representative transactions include representation of a leading multinational manufacturer of analytical instruments in connection with its acquisition by Thermo Electron Corporation; the leading domestic manufacturer of coated release papers in connection with its sale to UPM Kymmene; Charles Industries in connection with its acquisition of the Wescom Division of Rockwell; the sellers of beverage companies G. Heileman Brewing Company, American Juice and A.J. Canfield; the purchaser of the St. Louis Rams and the seller of the Chicago Bulls; and various banks and bank holding companies, including ABN AMRO, in connection with the purchase and sale of twenty banks and bank holding companies
