
Russell B. Swapp is the managing partner of Seyfarth’s Boston office and also serves as the Co-chair of Seyfarth’s national Immigration Practice Group. Mr. Swapp represents academic institutions, multinational corporations, and medical and financial institutions in matters which relate to the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act and the North American Free Trade Agreement.
He assists clients in obtaining temporary and permanent employment authorization for: professional and skilled workers; individuals of preeminence in the arts, sciences, and sports; and students and scholars. He also prepares business and employment petitions necessary to facilitate investment in the United States and the transfer of personnel within multinational corporations.
Mr. Swapp currently serves on the Immigration Subcommittee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He is the former chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Committee on Immigration, and the U.S. Department of Labor Liaison Chair for the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is also a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, and is a frequent lecturer at professional association conferences and colleges and universities throughout New England.
