
Saleemah Jones is a senior level attorney having fifteen years of experience in both the public and private sector, and her tenure includes municipal prosecution, plaintiff representation, litigation, and administrative law proceedings. She holds a multi-state license in the practice of law.
She currently serves as an Associate Attorney at the Bay Area Legal Aid and represents clients in civil & criminal cases, and for legal aid. She oversees the complete process from initial meetings and information gathering to legal representation as well as ongoing support.
She performs in-depth research, evaluates police reports, and other records to identify, locate, and prepare evidence and witnesses for the case. She builds a viable case for each client after carefully analyzing local, state, and federal laws.
She communicates with other legal and government professionals, schedules meetings & court appearances, participates in negotiations, drafts legal documents accurately, and maintains their confidentiality.
She also conducts community outreach training and collaborates with the local and national tenant advocacy community. Before joining the Bay Area Legal Aid, she served as an Associate Attorney with the law firm Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson from 2013 to 2017.
She was the Prosecuting Attorney at the City of Fort Worth from 2008 to 2013 and an Attorney with the Legal Aid of Northwest Texas from 2005 to 2008. She worked with the Attorney General of Texas as a Child Support Officer III during 2003-2004 and exclusively handled child support matters.
She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Thurgood Marshall School Of Law in 2002, and before joining law school, she completed her Bachelor’s of Arts in English language and literature from the Grambling State University in 1998.
Saleemah Jones holds the membership of professional organizations such as the Black Women’s Lawyers Association and the Cook County Bar Association.
