Ms. Denman has been licensed to practice law for over a decade. After graduating with a B.A. from the University of North Carolina, She attended Howard University School of Law where she was a member of the Howard Law Review. Ms. Denman also participated in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic where she regularly mediated cases in Smalls Claims Court and for the University’s Undergraduate Student dispute mediation program.
After graduating from Howard, Ms. Denman served as a law clerk for a Family Court Judge where she drafted opinions on visitation, custody, child neglect, child abuse and termination of parental rights cases. After her tenure as a law clerk, Ms. Denman earned a Masters in Law from American University Washington College of Law .
Ms. Denman then worked for a defense firm in New York City where she handled court appearances, depositions and trial preparation. Ms. Denman moved on to join a general practice law firm where she drafted appeals, represented litigants in probate Court and handled court appearances throughout Southern New York State.
After years of private practice Ms. Denman accepted a position at the Administration for Children’s Services in New York City. As an attorney for the Agency, Ms. Denman appeared in Family Court on a daily basis handling cases from inception through disposition. Ms. Denman also negotiated cases for settlement, where appropriate.
Ms. Denman then accepted a position at the Westchester County Attorney’s Office where she represented the Department of Social Services in child abuse, neglect and termination of parental rights cases.
After having gained extensive experience in various areas of law, Ms. Denman started her own practice . Ms. Denman is licensed to practice law in New York State, Connecticut and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
