Samuel Block is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. His practice includes a substantial amount of litigation arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).
He has represented benefit plans, plan sponsors, and ERISA fiduciaries in excessive fee litigation, investment strategy disputes, and severance disputes. Sam’s practice has also focused on white collar criminal defense and employment litigation.
He previously worked for the City of Chicago in the Mayor’s Office Fellowship Program. During law school, Sam served on Harvard Law School’s Board of Student Advisers and was a finalist for the 2015 Ames Moot Court Competition.
