Samuel W. Braver has more than four decades of extensive litigation experience. He has tried cases in both state and federal courts across the country. He is the chairman of the Product Liability group and the Corporate Trust and Estate Litigation practice of the law firm, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. He also serves as a co-chair of the firm’s Florida Litigation group.
He has also served as the chair of the Commercial Litigation section of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. He has helped different types of commercial and financial institutions in complex lending issues, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property issues, sophisticated probate, and trust litigation. He is highly skilled in corporate governance and healthcare litigation.
SW Braver has a rich experience of the extensive jury and non-jury trials. Throughout his career, he has frequently represented manufacturers in products liability litigation. He has helped many clients in intellectual property and patent litigation. He has also counseled them through product recall issues and other compliance problems involving the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
As an arbitrator, he served at the American Arbitration Association, in federal court arbitration proceedings, and in private arbitration. He also serves on a statewide committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, where he reviews candidates for appellate judgeships in Pennsylvania.
The local Federal Bench appointed him to serve as a Discovery Master as well as a mediator. He has served as a Chair of a federal and state appellate program for past eight years. He was a part of a panel with either Third Circuit or Pennsylvania Appellate Judges.
He served as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and taught a course in Litigation Planning and Strategy in 2017.
He completed B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1971. He earned J.D. in 1974, magna cum laude from the Duquesne University School of Law.
Samuel Braver has the license to practice law in Pennsylvania, Florida, the United States Tax Court, the 3rd &11th Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Middle & Southern District Courts of Florida, and the Western, Eastern & Middle District Courts of Pennsylvania.
