Sandra L. Sheldon is a seasoned litigator with more than 16 years of experience managing high-stakes, complex litigation, including class actions, multidistrict litigation and other litigation involving large numbers of stakeholders with varying interests.

She is adept at analyzing complex legal questions covering a wide range of subject matters, and has represented clients in product defect cases in both the pharmaceutical and automotive areas.

She spends a significant amount of her practice developing and implementing both case-specific and litigation-wide strategies to aid pharmaceutical manufacturers facing mass tort litigation, including authoring briefs on general and specific causation, Daubert and the learned intermediary doctrine.

Sandee works up cases from start to finish, including all phases of discovery, depositions and fact investigation through to dispositive briefing and trial preparation.

Recently, she has worked on several bellwether trial selections in a large multidistrict litigation, mastering technical facts and assessing how the plaintiffs would present to a jury.

Sandee has also managed an active docket of automotive product liability cases, running every facet of the cases. She has successfully resolved a number of cases before and after completion of dispositive motion briefing, as well as successfully upholding trial court victories on appeal.

Sandee joined Shook’s San Francisco office in 2016 after spending six years as a senior attorney at a federal banking agency, where she investigated and prosecuted complex, multifaceted enforcement actions and provided regulatory advice to regional staff on a variety of topics. Before that, Sandee spent more than six years at Paul Weiss in New York City, focusing on complex litigation.
